The High Court will hear today (Tuesday) a rule on bringing back fugitive criminal Prashanta Kumar Halder popularly known as PK Halder to the country.

The High Court bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Kazi Md. Ejarul Haque Akondo will hear the rule.

Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik, a concerned state counsel of this HC bench, confirmed this on Monday.

He said an initiative has been taken to hold the hearing on a rule issued by the High Court about one and half years ago over the government steps to bring back PK Halder to the country and to arrest him.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) of India has arrested P K Halder and five others.

The ED on Friday raided 10 locations in North and South 24 Parganas of Bengal to nab them, who cheated multiple banks in Bangladesh and siphoned off several hundred crore Bangladeshi taka to India and some other countries, it said in a statement.
