BCB in its press note said, as per the Managed Event Environment (MEE) protocol for the series, Shakib underwent a PCR and a rapid antigen test as a pre-requisite for joining the team. Both tests have returned positive results Today (Tuesday).

Shakib has Covid-19 symptoms. He is little bit sick. That’s why BCB kept him four-day isolation.

“There is no chance in that sense. Because according to our Covid protocol, he will have to be isolated for 5 days. In that case, Shakib’s next test will be on the 14th and there is an issue of match fitness,” he added.

The sensational cricketer went to USA to spend vacation with his family after Dhaka Premier League. He was supposed to join the practice on May 12 ahead of Bangladesh’s first Test against Sri Lanka. But, the Covid-19 has changed the plan.
