A snatcher took away the mobile phone of Planning Minister MA Mannan from Bijoy Sharani area in the capital on Sunday (May 30) evening.

The snatcher took away the phone when the minister was using his mobile phone while sitting in his car with one of its windows rolled down.

The Planning Minister disclosed the information while talking to journalists at a press conference following an ECNEC meeting at the Planning Commission in Dhaka on Tuesday (June 01).

The policeman pursued the mugger but could not catch him, the minister said.

A general diary was filed with the Kafrul police station.

Meanwhile, Md Shahidullah, deputy commissioner of (Tejgaon Division) Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said today, “The incident took place three to four days ago. Law enforcers are trying to retrieve the phone snatched.”
