Authorities in Chapainawabganj have extended the special lockdown by another seven days as the district is witnessing a surge in coronavirus cases.
Monjurul Hafiz, Chapainawabganj deputy commissioner, confirmed this in a press briefing on Monday (May 31).
DC Monjurul Hafiz said, “The lockdown will come into effect from May 31 midnight to June 7 midnight.”
All types of vehicles will remain closed and no one will be allowed to enter or leave the district during the lockdown, the DC said.
People of the district have been advised to stay home during the lockdown to help the government contain the spread of coronavirus, he said.
Grocery shops and those selling daily necessities will remain open every day while pharmacies, clinics and hospitals will be out of the purview of the lockdown, he mentioned.
